Nadal:They said I`d have a short career, but I`m still here

Raphael Nadal was extremely disappointed that another knee injury made him retire during his US Open semi-final against Juan Martin Del Potro. The Spaniard was hardly moving into the second set and after his end he announced that he could not continue. World number 1 shared that he knows very well what the problem is, but he has no idea how much the recovery will continue, because each time is a different period. I know what`s happening with the knee. It`s not about losing, but about not having the opportunity to fight for victory. The last two years were great. The past was fantastic, the one so far. I lost four games, and in two of them I had to give up, said Rafa.

I have the feeling that my whole career is fighting these things. It`s hard, but I will continue to work hard to have new opportunities. People said that due to my style of play, I would have a short career, but I`m still here. I`m here because I love what I do. I still have a passion for the game. I will continue to struggle, to work, to enjoy the tour and to have the chances to compete at the highest level, `Nadal said.
