Chelsea appeals the red card of Courtois

The leadership of the English champion Chelsea lodges a complaint against the expulsion of the goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois during the match of the first round of the Premier League against Swansea (2:2). The Belgian was sent off from the field with a direct red card in the 52th minute of the game mentioned by arbitrage betting at the "Bridge" after tripped Bafetimbi Gomis, from which were given a penalty in favor of the guests and they came to a tying second goal. According to the bosses of Chelsea, the expulsion of Courtois is debatable, as Gomis`s touch takes him away from the door and he was not a direct threat for score.

In the rules of the FA for banning with a direct red card is said, "to prevent an obvious goal situation against an opponent, who is moving to the door of the player, with violation or penalty." Chelsea believes that this subject is not met by Courtois.

The next match of Chelsea from the Premier League is against the champion from the last season Manchester City. If the card of Courtois is repealed, his location will be taken by Asmir Begovic.
